This week I have been preparing mentally for this journey. I'd like to share with you my prayer of preparation. Through the week this prayer has taken different forms, but the essence is the same. Today is the first day I am writing it down.
Father you are higher and greater than any other. You are sovereign and wise. I am coming to you right now asking you to prepare, plow, and tend the fields of my heart. Make it open and receptive to the needs of my husband as I pray purposefully for him over the next 31 days. Lord only you know all the desires of my husband's heart. Only you know his deepest needs. For this reason I ask that the Holy Spirit intercede where I fall short.
Lord, the next 31 days are infinitely special because many women will be standing in agreement to pray for, and honor our husbands as we honor you. Bless this time, Father. Bless these prayers as we write and share. Break down walls of uncertainty about the ability to pray effectively, building fortresses of confidence in our strength and ability in you. Erase confusion about what to pray and replace it with the comfort of the Holy Spirit that intercedes on our behalf. Finally God, I'm asking that you bless every woman participating; married, engaged, or filled with a desire to marry.
Wisdom comes from prayer and consultation with the Father.
Proverbs 18:21 says, "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit."
What type of fruit will you be eating? Ripe or spoiled?
Let our words be life
Let our words be truth
We don't want to speak a word
unless it points the world back to you
"Words" by Hawk Nelson - I love and have been meditating on the words in this song.
Excited to begin this journey with you tomorrow!
